Willow was only nine months old when she was surrendered by her owners after she had multiple seizures. Her owner said the grand mal seizures began a few months prior, and she was having a few each week. She had a seizure shortly after arriving at the shelter and was sedated and given Valium to help stabilize her. (She is sedated in her before picture.) Willow was posted for urgent rescue, and Indy’s Voice for Animals pledged to help with her care. While she waited for rescue, the shelter vet was able to help control her seizures with Gabapentin. Staff learned Willow was great with other dogs in play group, walked well on leash, and was an all-around sweetheart! Gabapentin is not ideal long-term, so the shelter continued to push for rescue. Fortunately, Heartbeat4Paws made a spot! They are currently working with their vet to get Willow’s seizures under control and figure out a root cause. As you can see in her after picture, she is an adorable, happy girl. Thank you to those of you who have supported our Moore Life Medical Fund!
