Cole

Cole

Before

Cole, a 6-8 month beautiful, blue-eyed Pitbull boy, came in to IACS as a stray and tested positive for Canine parvovirus. The virus is highly contagious, so most animals without rescue assistance are euthanized. Fortunately, we were able to pull Cole and get him to our veterinary partners at Noah’s Westside Animal Hospital. He was in the ICU for a week.

After 7 days in the ICU at Noah’s Westside Animal Hospital, Cole was released to one of our foster homes, where he was on quarantine for an additional 2 weeks, in order to keep him from spreading the virus to other pets.

Cole was released from his quarantine on Monday July 19th, and has since spent his time making up for all the time he has lost while he was sick. He loves wrestling with his foster siblings, giving big sloppy kisses, and snuggling up for the occasional snooze on the couch with his foster family. He is big, and doofy, and has truly never met a stranger (animal or human). Cole has since moved on to his “foster-to-adopt” home where he has two furry brothers, and a human sister who he ADORES. When he met her, he happily rolled over on his back for some belly rubs, then promptly sat in her lap to soak up all the snuggles. (He has no concept of personal space).

Cole’s illness, while long, trying, and ultimately pretty expensive was truly his new beginning, his opportunity at a new life. We were just a short stop for Cole, but EDCR was happy to play a small role in his happily ever after.
