Javier was adopted from Indianapolis Animal Care Services and returned after a few months. They said he wasn’t getting along with other animals in the home, but he did fine with dogs at the shelter. Javier had lost 22 pounds in the several months his owners had him, but he had been eating fine. There seemed to be no reason why he was losing weight. The medical staff at the shelter did blood work and discovered elevated kidney levels. They began to monitor his weight and food intake, but Javier did not gain weight as they expected him to. He was placed on rescue only in the hope a rescue could do further diagnostics. Javier waited and waited for three months on the rescue list! move to Act pledged from our Moore Life Medical Fund to help a rescue afford further diagnostics and care. Fortunately, Ruts Rescue found a foster who was also interested in adopting him! He is currently doing very well in his foster home. He has made friends with the other dogs in the home, and as you can see from his after picture, has gotten quite comfortable. Thank you to those of you who support our Moore Life Medical Fund! We could not be a part of helping animals like Javier without you. If you would like to make a contribution, please visit https://
