Shalimar

Shalimar

Before

Shalimar was a bit of a mess when she arrived at the shelter as a stray.  She had wounds from a dog fight, her eyes were swollen, her paws were swollen and inflamed, and she was a crusty scab from head to toe due to demodex mange.  The shelter medical staff started her on medication.  In a few days, the swelling from the wounds had gone down, her skin began to heal, and Shalimar started to feel a little better.  Due to the severity of the demodex, her skin would take weeks to heal completely, so she was placed on rescue only.  She barked and growled when introduced to another dog at the shelter, so finding her a rescue would be a challenge.  move to Act pledged from our Moore Life Medical Fund.  While she did not need a costly procedure, she would need basic care for weeks until her skin healed.  Canine Castaways stepped up and rescued this sweet girl.  She is doing very well in rescue and even gets along great with other dogs!  She is getting medicated baths to help her skin heal, and her fur is beginning to grow back.  The rescue gave her a new name too.  She is now Blondie.  Thank you for supporting our Moore Life Medical Fund and allowing this story to be possible!  Would you like to be a part of our next happy rescue story?  It’s easy to do!  Simply visit http://www.movetoact.org/donate.php and make a donation to one of our pledge funds.  The more donations we receive, the more animals we can help save, and the more happy stories we get to write!
