Sassy was 10 years old when she was brought to the shelter after her owner passed away. She is a very sweet older gal whose legs are just not what they used to be. She has trouble getting up and walking on smooth, slippery surfaces. Once moving, she is happy to go for walks and can keep up pretty well. Sassy loves treats and knows how to sit and speak. She also still has a bit of interest in toys. Due to her leg issues, she was placed on rescue only, as she may need more medical than the shelter could provide.
Poor Sassy soon fell ill with an upper respiratory infection, so she was given an urgent date. Seniors often have trouble battling these infections in the stressful shelter environment, so it was critical for Sassy to get to rescue as soon as possible. Indy’s Voice for Animals pledged from our Last Chance Fund to help with the cost of her care, and Heartbeat4Paws stepped up and rescued her! Sassy has already been to the vet and is doing well in her foster home. Thank you for supporting our Last Chance Fund! We could not help dogs like Sassy without your support.
