Minnie arrived as an owner surrender after she and her 14-year-old, unaltered mother got into a fight in the home. Neither dog was seriously injured, and Minnie was heavily pregnant at the time. Minnie delivered her puppies at the shelter, but more than half of them died.  The others were placed into foster homes because Minnie didn’t want to nurse, and shelter staff weren’t sure the pups were safe with her. Minnie was very scared and shut down. She went for walks with staff but remained very fearful and unsure of her environment.
