Minnie

Minnie

Before

Minnie arrived as an owner surrender after she and her 14-year-old, unaltered mother got into a fight in the home. Neither dog was seriously injured, and Minnie was heavily pregnant at the time. Minnie delivered her puppies at the shelter, but more than half of them died.  The others were placed into foster homes because Minnie didn’t want to nurse, and shelter staff weren’t sure the pups were safe with her. Minnie was very scared and shut down. She went for walks with staff but remained very fearful and unsure of her environment. She was placed in a staff member’s office because she wasn’t doing well in the kennel.  She loved spending time with people she trusted and became close with the medical staff and kennel supervisors.  She was placed on rescue only and eventually given a “must have rescue by” date due to her stress level.  Indy’s Voice for Animals pledged from our Last Chance Fund to help her find a rescue.  Fortunately, Humane Society of the Dunes made a spot for her!  She is now doing well in her foster home.  Thank you for supporting our Last Chance Fund and being a part of helping Minnie!  If you would like to make a contribution, please visit https://indysvoice4animals.org/  You can also help by using Amazon Smile when shopping online.  Select move to Act for your charity of choice, and a percentage of your purchase will go to help an animal in need.
