Mia

Before

Mia, at five years old, found herself at the shelter when her owner surrendered her due to the cost of her care. She is a great, happy, wiggly dog who loves people and other dogs. Unfortunately, her back end seemed painful when she walked. It was sometimes possible to hear her knees pop. The cost to treat leg and hip issues is typically a concern for rescues, so Mia sat on the rescue list with no interest until she was given a “must have rescue by” date. move to Act made a pledge from our Moore Life Medical Fund to help pay for her care. Fortunately, Lucky Dog Retreat took this sweet girl in. They learned poor Mia has horrible hip dysplasia and knees, likely both torn ACLs and a luxating patella. She had been kept in a crate way too much in her life. Sadly, her issues and injuries are too far along or happened too long ago to be corrected with surgery. Lucky Dog Retreat is working with a sport vet to do extensive physical therapy with Mia. She is a happy girl and finally getting the TLC she needs! Your support of the Moore Life Medical Fund helped to make that possible. Thank you!
