Mandy

Before

Poor Mandy was found by the side of the road unable to get up. She had been hit by a car, and Indianapolis Animal Care Services was called to help.  An officer picked her up and brought her back to shelter where the medical staff discovered her right front leg had a humeral fracture.  She was given pain medication and placed on rescue only.  Mandy was very scared when she first got to the shelter, but after several days, she began to warm up and be friendly.  She was given a “must have rescue by” date in the hope a rescue could provide the care she needed for her leg.  move to Act pledged from our Moore Life Medical Fund to help.  Last Call K9s rescued Mandy and got her straight to the vet!  The bone was badly broken with the two pieces far apart, but they still hope to save her leg rather than amputate.  Mandy is currently in a splint and will go back for x-rays in a few weeks.  She has really come out of her shell outside the shelter and is a happy, playful girl!
