Jordy came to the shelter with wounds from an apparent dog fight. He was not using his front leg, and it was swollen and painful. The shelter sent him to a vet partner, so he could receive care for his wounds. While there, poor Jordy started vomiting onions and corn. This was very concerning, as onions are toxic to dogs. He continued to vomit, and the vet suspected a foreign body. Jordy was going to need much more care than shelter resources could provide. He was posted for urgent rescue and only given a few hours due to the urgent need for medical care. Indy’s Voice for Animals quickly pledged from our Moore Life Medical and Last Chance Funds to help, as we knew this would be an expensive case. Tuff Dawgs responded quickly and came to his rescue! Jordy was anemic from onion toxicity and also had to have surgery to remove a corn cob that was obstructing his bowel. Fortunately, he pulled through and is doing well in his foster home! Without the quick action of many people, Jordy would not have survived. This is truly a story of great teamwork on the part of all!
