Gunther was only three years old when he was hit by a car and brought to the vet by a good Samaritan. X-rays revealed his tail had been separated from his spine, and he had a potential pelvic fracture. The vet thought he may also have a collapsed lung. He had a chip, but his owner said he had intended to return Gunther to the shelter. Poor Gunther was taken to IACS. He had been there several times in the past as an owner surrender, stray, and adopted and returned. In spite of all that, he was a happy guy who gave the medical staff at IACS no trouble at all! They quickly posted him for rescue with an urgent date, as he needed more medical care than the shelter could provide. Indy’s Voice for Animals (move to Act) quickly pledged from our Moore Life Medical Fund. We knew his care would be expensive, and we wanted him to have the best possible shot at finding rescue. Fortunately, Creekside Animal Rescue stepped up and saved this boy!
Gunther had his tail amputated and is doing fantastic! His new name is Chance. A new name to go with his new look and fresh start. Thank you for supporting our Moore Life Medical Fund and being a part of Chance’s rescue! If you would like to make a donation to help future animals, please visit https://indysvoice4animals.org/.
