Finney was guessed to be around a year old when he found himself at the shelter. He growled and barked at the cage, as if he wasn’t at all friendly. Fortunately for Finney, one of the kennel staff saw through his tough guy talk and took him out. He was only acting out because he was scared, and he proved to be a very sweet guy outside the kennel. The staff member worked with him and helped him behave better at the cage, so he would have a chance to be temp tested. It was discovered, during temp test, that he is dog selective. Finney was placed on rescue only. The poor boy sat with no interest for over a month until he was given a “must have rescue by” date. move to Act pledged from our Last Chance Fund to help Finney find a rescue. He is a black pit bull with dog issues, and would likely be difficult to find a home for. (Black pit bulls are often overlooked and the last to be adopted.) Sadly, Finney‘s “must have rescue date” went by with no rescue. Finney was placed on the list to be killed, but shelter staff did not let him go. They wanted to check with the Rescue Coordinator one last time before doing so. Miraculously, Last Call K9s had emailed that morning with a foster for Finney! In a true rescue miracle, he was rescued past his last minute! If you would like to be a part of helping dogs like Finney, please visit http://www.movetoact.
