Dezi was only four when he came to the shelter with the old scars and forlorn look he has in his before picture. It was apparent he had probably not been treated well in his life. He had some eye issues and did not do well with other dogs at the shelter, so he was placed on the rescue only list. move to ACT pledged from our Moore Life Medical Fund to help a rescue with the treatment cost for his eyes. It can be difficult to find rescue for a dog that doesn’t do well with other dogs, so Dezi actually ran out of time on the rescue list; his urgent date came and went with no rescue. But by what we like to call a rescue miracle, Pawswap found a foster-to-adopt home just a few days after Dezi’s “must have rescue by” date, and Dezi was still at the shelter, on borrowed time!  As you can see from the after picture, he now has a family that loves him, and that forlorn look has melted away.
