Shelter staff guessed Cora was around two years old when she arrived as a stray. She was nervous and could be stiff and fearful at the shelter. Once out of the kennel area, she relaxed and warmed up to the people who spent time with her. Eventually, she became braver. She enjoyed attention from staff and volunteers, and they learned she is a rambunctious girl who loves to play! Cora was temp-tested for the adoption floor. Sadly, she did not do well when introduced to another dog, which meant she could not be adopted from the shelter. She was put on the rescue-only list. She waited for three weeks with no interest until she was given a “must have rescue by” date. move to Act pledged from our Last Chance Fund in hopes our pledge would encourage a rescue to step up. Caring for the animals long-term is costly, so financial support can make a big difference. Luckily, Canine Castaways stepped up and saved Cora! She is doing well in rescue and hoping to find her forever home soon.
