Cali is a lovable girl with a great personality! She was on the adoption floor at the shelter but collapsed after a walk one day and could hardly get up. Poor Cali was way too plump for her frame and really needed a plan to gently exercise without causing too much stress on her body. She also has thickened knees. The shelter medical staff decided it would be best to make her rescue only, so she could have x-rays and any additional vet care she may need. move to Act pledged from our Moore Life Medical Fund in order to help a rescue pay for Cali‘s care. Cali waited a few weeks, and in that time, lost some weight. It was obvious it made a huge difference, as she could get around much more easily and clearly felt much better. Casa Del Toro found a foster home and rescued this girl! They learned, in addition to thickened knees, she also has hip dysplasia and arthritis. She will require ongoing pain medication. Cali is doing wonderful in her foster home and only has five more pounds to lose to get to her ideal weight!
