Bernie

Bernie

Before

Poor Bernie was left behind when his owner was evicted, so he ended up at the shelter.  He passed his temperament test and is an all-around, good-natured guy who gets along well with other dogs and loves people and attention.  Sadly, he has some issues with his back legs and hips that kept him from going to the adoption floor.  X-rays showed hip dysplasia and problems with the tendons in his hocks.  Bernie was placed on rescue only, as he would need to be further evaluated and given more care than the shelter could provide.  move to Act pledged from our Moore Life Medical Fund to help this happy-go-lucky, friendly boy.  This could become quite expensive for a rescue, and we believed Bernie deserved a chance.  Bernie waited for weeks on the rescue list until a foster home opened up with Hope Marie’s Fund.  They rescued him, and he is currently doing well in foster.  They learned Bernie has hip dysplasia as well as arthritis.  He is on pain medication and is being monitored to see if further treatment will be needed.  Bernie walks a little stiff-legged, but he remains happy and lovable.  He will make someone a great companion when he finds his forever home.  Thank you for supporting our Moore Life Medical Fund and helping Bernie!  If you would like to make a donation and be a part of saving more animals, please visit http://www.movetoact.com/donate.php
