Angelica

Before

Angelica is a sweet little girl who arrived at the shelter with an injured leg and paw. She was limping and holding her leg up, and her nails were worn down to nubs and bleeding. In spite of the pain she must have been in, Angelica was a fun-loving, energetic pup who loved to play and get attention! She jumped in the laps of volunteers and staff, gave them kisses, and didn’t even seem to notice she was injured. The vet staff at the shelter wrapped her leg and did what they could for her. Then, she was placed on rescue-only, so she could get further treatment. move to Act pledged from our Moore Life Medical Fund to help a rescue pay for her care. Leg injuries can be very expensive! Helping Paws stepped up and rescued her. X-rays revealed no fractures, but based on muscle and nerve damage, the vet believed Angelica could have been hit by a car two months earlier. She is currently in foster and going through therapy in the hope her leg can be saved. If the therapy does not help, her leg will have to be amputated. Angelica, who has been renamed to Angel, is receiving great care and a lot of love in her foster home. No matter the outcome for her leg, we’re sure she will continue to be a happy girl!
