The SPCA Tampa Bay pleaded guilty to animal cruelty for allowing Waddles the pig to languish in the sun to roast and develop 3rd degree burns in July, 2025. As of the date of this publication, the agency is attempting for a second time to overturn that citation. This same SPCATB also embraces the importation of puppy milled dogs for the revenue benefits. Community dogs die. Death by displacement.
When the administration of the SPCA Tampa Bay becomes radioactive the contamination knows no boundaries.
It penetrates to:
Chief of Police Michael Loux who would not arrest the SPCA Tampa Bay CEO for Waddles’s suffering.
State Attorney Bruce Bartlett who would not prosecute the SPCA Tampa Bay CEO for Waddles’s suffering
St Petersburg, City County Councilor Gina Driscoll who accepts a $42,000 payment to be an SPCATB “consultant.” https://indysvoice4animals.org/2026/01/19/is-the-spca-tampa-bay-buying-political-influence/
The SPCATB board of directors, led by chair person Tina Thomas who remains committed to supporting the responsible party for the cruelty to Waddles and puppy mill dog importation
The Pinellas County Commission. Commissioner Kathleen Peter promotes the importation of puppy milled dogs into the community. (What is a $250 donation to Ms. Peter’s campaign?)
Uninformed public and private donors and sponsors who continue to donate without awareness of the organization’s: $5.7M in staff salaries and benefits, total fundraising expenses of $1.5M and total revenue of $8.6M, Revenue deficit -$358,000 (Source: 2024 990).
Translation: The SPCATB is sucking $8.6M from the animal welfare donor pool. One can only guess what small percentage goes to caring for animals.
Seems that the cost of a tube of burn ointment and tarp for Waddles was not in the budget.
Do your research before donating.
Is the agency’s priority self-enrichment or is the agency a hoax masquerading as an animal welfare organization out to get your money?
